Moonshine Bandits Pittsburgh Concert reviews
Mellencamp Durham
"Flyweight Boxer, Bantam Rooster, punching ghosts of long gone songs. The band, including John, performed at the highest level of their craft, with a passion and urgency rarely seen in live music today. Despite the low crowd energy, they seamlessly weaved old and new songs, presenting a mix of acoustic guitar, stand-up bass, accordion, violin, mandolin, and banjo. John took on the role of a tent revival healer, letting his music do the preaching. The stage was worked by John as only a true artist can, leading the band in a captivating performance. The show met and exceeded my high expectations multiple times. For disappointed fans expecting a "greatest hits" show, they missed out on magical moments from an artist potentially writing his greatest songs right now. This tour's reviews had prepared me for the interpretations of old songs and the presentation of new songs from Moonshine Bandits' last recording."
